Queen Rearing and Bee Breeding Workshop
June 22 & 23, 2022
Ready to take beekeeping to the next level? For those of you who already have a working foundation in beekeeping, the WSU bee team is offering an event to introduce you to fundamental tools for stock improvement. This workshop is designed to improve your understanding of queen rearing, bee breeding systems and selection methods though a combination of presentations and hands-on demonstrations. We will also introduce you to the more advanced techniques of instrumental insemination and cryopreservation.
Instructors: Susan Cobey, Brandon Hopkins, Tim Lawrence, Steve Sheppard, Nick Naeger, and Jennifer Han. We will also have outstanding guest speakers.

Registration Cost: $300.00 + processing fee
Location: Washington State University, Pullman campus
Plan on two all day meetings. The time of day and schedule of activities will be sent with your registration confirmation.
WSU Beekeeping Workshop
June 24 and 25, 2020
This workshop is designed to increase your beekeeping skills, evaluate and predict situations to enhance colony production and health. Queen rearing methods, early recognition of pests and diseases and how minimize their impact will be presented and demonstrated. We will also introduce you to the techniques of instrumental insemination and cryopreservation of honey bee semen through demonstrations.
Instructors: Susan Cobey, Jennifer Han, Brandon Hopkins, Tim Lawrence, Nick Naeger, Steve Sheppard and the WSU bee team.
Registration includes lunch and Welcome reception. Fee. $175.
